But how much water should we really drink every day?

According to the The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, an adequate daily fluid intake is about 15.5 cups for men and about 11.5 cups for women. These recommendations cover fluids from water, other beverages and food. About 20 percent of daily fluid intake usually comes from food and the rest from drinks. In general 8 ounces of water, 8 times a day is a reasonable goal to set. Some experts even recommend sipping on water regularly throughout the day.

Remembering to stay hydrated

Sometimes it can be challenging to remember how many glasses of water we had in a day or just to remember to drink a glass now and then. Keep it in a handy place where you will not overlook the visual reminder such as on the wall next to your Aquatana water cooler or on a clear space of your refrigerator door at eye level. Simply check off a water drop for every glass of water you drink. Get the whole family involved and everybody initial the water drops each time they drink a glass of water.
