Aquatana Bottled Water Process

Updated: May 1

BOTTLED WATER PLANT TREATMENT PROCESS

Our bottled water plant filtration process consists of the following 6 steps:

1.      Carbon Filtration

2.      Water Softening

3.      Micron Filtration (5 micron)

4.      Reverse Osmosis

5.      Ozonation

6.      Micron Filtration (5 micron & 1 micron)

REVERSE OSMOSIS

At Aquatana, we use state-of-the-art reverse osmosis technology to filter our bottled water.  Reverse osmosis has the ability to filter turbidity, dissolved impurities and microbes (not certified for microbes). Reverse osmosis is known to filter to the size of an atom or .0001 microns.  Most bacteria that can be present in water range in size from 0.2 – 1 micron.

OZONATION

To ensure safe drinking, Aquatana uses ozone to disinfect our bottled water and reusable bottles. Ozone, which is pure oxygen (O3), has the unique ability to convert back to oxygen (O2) within 24 hours, leaving no trace behind. Ozone is considered to work 3,000 times faster than chlorine at disinfecting. This fast-acting and effective treatment is excellent at destroying pathogenic waterborne microorganisms and other bacteria, viruses, mold and algae.

OVERVIEW

To ensure safe drinking water Aquatana uses a multi-step filtration process iIncluding sediment filtration for particulate material, reverse osmosis for turbidity, dissolved impurities and microbes and finally ozone for disinfection.
